In the Quiluette tribe history, they say they had magic in their blood. Being a small tribe, they needed all the defense they could grasp against the neighboring tribes. Spirit Warriors, they called themselves. Makah's, when the Spirit Warriors were just starting, were also quite a small tribe. A man by the name of Fi Achu, married a young women in the Quiluette tribe, though he was Makah. He was an older man, though his status among his tribe was held very highly. The Makah and the Quiluette had this treaty for quite awhile; the Quiluette give their most beautiful women to the Makah in return for protection. Just a few short decades before Fi Achu had married the young women, Hurit, something dramatic had happened to the Quiluette blood line, including Hurit's own blood. They had changed from Spirit Warriors to the ones of Wolves, shifting into impossibly huge wolves, then back to their human forms. Fi Achu and Hurit had their first child, twins, a boy and a girl.
The girl had come first, they named her Misae, after the white sun that had burnt brightly on the day she was born, and the boy Cheveyo, a name marking him as a decendant of spirit warriors. As they grew, they were loved from everyone, the first identical twins they had seen in decades. Since they had started mating with the Quiluette. They Makah grew afraid of the Quiluette, and their treaty ended. A war started; though the Makah were greatly out weighted by the giant wolves of the Quiluette. Distressed by watching their people die, Misae shifted into a great white wolf, her brother beside her, though his fur was a deep blue-black color. Howling, all the children of Makah men and Quiluette women started doing the same, though none of them matched the sheer size of Misae and Cheveyo. Because of their tribe's large size, they quickly out numbered the Quiluette's, fighting them off of their land. Slowly, the Makah wolves stopped shifting, though Misae and Cheveyo stayed as the Alpha and Beta of their pack. Misae, seeing as she was both the oldest and the first to shift, because the head, Cheveyo as her second hand.
At first, this was not a problem, but Cheveyo became jealous of Misae. He believed that a man should not take orders from a women, no matter how much older she was than him. A man should be at the head of the pack, not Misae. He revolted, though since the majority of the pack were female, he was quickly quieted. Cheveyo split off from the pack, and a few of the other pack members (a few boys, and a few girls) followed him, believing he was right to revolt against his sister. The pack was forever severered, and the only people who could talk in their wolf forms were Cheveyo and Misae, seeing as they were both Alphas now. The split did not end, even when Misae and Cheveyo stopped shifting, as well as the rest of their pack.
As time went on, Misae and Cheveyo died, leaving behind all of their children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. Misae and Cheveyo never did end their fued, and some believe that even their blood lines fight within each other still. Their children did not shift, nor did their decendants. Only did they shift when a clan of 'cold ones' attacked their tribe. Many lives were lost to the large clan, more than 7 of the cold blooded beasts wrecked havoc over the poor humans. Velvela, a strong headed women of only 21, shifted, as well as her siblings. She was a direct decendant of Misae, as well as her siblings. She took charge, killing the majority of the vampires with her strong teeth. Realizing the reason they were there, to protect their people, Velvela did not stop shifting. Not able to have anymore children than she already had, she watched her daughter, Adah, grow and marry a Quiluette man. Velvela, furious that her daughter would do this, killed her grandson and her son-in-law, leaving Adah without her child and the love of her life. Adah, anger at her mother for doing this, shifting, killing Velvela and her mother's beta.
Adah stopped shifting, just as soon as she had. She married another man from the Quiluette tribe, and had many more children (all of which now had both Quiluette and Makah shifter blood). The Makah shifters slowly died off, assimilating into the Quiluette bloodline. Many do not know that Makah used to shift. When a Makah does shift (generally female, though there are a few males), though, they usually just stick to a Quiluette pack, not knowing that they may have the power to split off into a Makah pack, or even become Alpha. As of right now, there was only two people who could become the Alpha of a Makah pack, Zea and Neiko Whiterock, though there are many who could split off to become nomad.
