Ella Rose Pryor sat on the window sill inside her room, drawing into a small sketchbook and listening to some music. For a moment she threw a quick glance out of the window. But the only things she could see outside, were the thick gray clouds drifting across the sky. Ella escaped a soft sigh, she knew that this dark clouds always promised rain. On the other hand, she had always been living in Forks and so was used to the rain. After all the small town had the reputation to be the rainiest town in the United States. So living somewhere else seemed almost impossible to her, after all she had been born here, in the hospital in town and had lived her whole life here. Her family and all her friends where here. But still there were days when Ella wished she could live somewhere else, no matter where, but simply somewhere else. Lost in her thoughts, she kept looking out of the window and down into the small garden which belonged to their house. When suddenly the music in the background turned loud and noisy, Ella closed her sketchbook stood up and threw it on the window sill. Then she walked over to her shelf to turn off the radio. When the radio turned quiet, she heard new noise from downstairs. Ella heard her mother shouting at her sister about something. Annoyed she rolled her eyes, it seemed like no day could go by without them shouting at one another. It was sometimes really hard to get some peace in that house, Ella thought to herself.
That was when she got an idea. Fast she picked up her shoes from the floor and put them on. Then grabbed her black leather jacket and left the room. She sneaked downstairs silently, cause she didn't wanted to get into the argument between her mother and her sister. When she had been younger, she had tried a few times to smooth the tensions between them, but after having her brought nothing but trouble, she had given up on it. Downstairs, she grabbed her house key from a small drawer in the hallway, then stepped outside the house. Closing the door behind her silently. When she stepped outside, she felt a cold breeze pull on her long dark brown hair and on her clothes. Ella shivered and then pulled her jacket closer around herself. Fast Ella walked on the small street in front of her house. For a moment she stood their unsure where to go next, but then decided to just keep walking. So she started to walk along the streets aimlessly. Wondering what the argument at home had been about, she just kept walking. To Ella it was really calming to walk and think. She often had the best ideas when she was outside.
When Ella looked up the next time, she noticed that she had walked pretty far. In front of her, she could already see the forest. For a moment she thought about going back, but rejected this idea again only a few seconds later. So she kept walking right into the forest. Even though, she had heard the story's about hikers being attacked by animals in the last time more often here, she was not scared. After all she had played in the forest ever since, she was a small child and knew the area. Besides if she stayed on the path, she was sure that nothing would happen to her. That was when she discovered a small bench by the roadside. So Ella sat down there for a moment. She closed her eyes and listened to all the forest sounds around her. Everything seemed so much more peaceful out here. Ella heard the wind whistling through the trees and smelled the muddy scent around. As she opened her eyes, she suddenly heard a new sound, besides the others. It was a silent dripping noise and Ella knew immediately what it was, rain. One thing was sure, Ella thought, she would never get back in time to stay dry, so maybe staying here waiting till it stopped raining was the best thing she could do. After all the trees offered at least a little protection. A few minutes later, suddenly Ella heard fast steps on the muddy path, seemed like someone else was stuck out here, just like her. Then curiously she looked into the direction from which the steps were coming, waiting for another person to appear on the path.
