J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • The dry piles of dead leaves were wrestled as Jayden jumped lightly across the forest floor, flying over the ground. His dark eyes, a glint of chocolate brown in them as the sun glistened off of them, flickered absently among his surroundings. He was fully in-tune with his animal instinct, and he was desperate for food - something, anything to eat. Ever since he had crossed into the panhandle of Washington, Jayden had been reluctant to hunt. Humans were everywhere, and he didn't want to risk hurting them.
The brightness of day retreated across the sky as shadows crept about; a blanket of darkness fell upon the seemingly deserted forest with the streaks of light from the dull sun being the only illumination of light for Jayden. A vague rumble filled the quiet air, becoming louder with each passing second until the reverberation of sound was too loud to ignore. The echo of rushed footsteps continued as the streak of blue-gray passed through a well-lit path in the middle of the forest. Jayden was running fast, a scent had caught his attention. Something darted across his vision, and he dug in even further.
The wolf's dull black orbs flickered aimlessly at his surroundings, noting many possible routes the animal in front of him could make a break for. The animal, presumably a rabbit darted away, the wolf turned left, bolting through the thick underbrush. Snarling under his breath, the wolf dug his heels into the soft ground, pushing off and shortening the distance between him and the animal.
With great skill and agility the beast ran, dodging trees, jumping over fallen trunks, and leaping great lengths to corner the creature. With unspeakable stamina, the wolf kept up his current speed, weaving through the thick maze of trees, bushes, and branches. The wolf extended his stride till he seemed as if he was flying, his limbs just scraping against the ground. His paws dug into the dirt, burying them to build up power and jump outwards. His black eyes stared straight ahead as he continued to sprint forward.
Jayden lunged ahead at the creature, catching it in his mouth and he gnawed on it gingerly, overcome with hunger. As he was finishing off his meal, Jayden paused. A new scent had hit him. And it wasn't typical. TEMPLATE MADE BY ASHERS AS USUAL@ CAUTION

The forest air was slightly calming to Elysium, who walked quitely in her human form. Her movements were swift, agile, and completely silent. Her eyes moved around aimlessly, watching for danger but also marveling at the beauty in the forest, the way the sunlight, which didn't come often, shone right through the thin leaves, giving the whole forest a green glow. Her skin, which was a soft bronze, seemed to pick up and reflect this colour, almost as if she too were part of the forest. But in the end, wasn't she?
A figure darted by. It startled Elysium, who had been caught up in her own thoughts and marvel. The object, or being, had been moving much too fast to just be some random deer, and much too large. A wolf had just passed, she noticed by the smell. Elysium smirked. They were on the hunt, the perfect time for Elysium to steal their food. Everyone kind of hated that about Elysium, but it was a game for her. She loved to be the brat, the bitch. It was easy for her.
Stripping out of her purple dress, leaving her bare skin to absorb more of the green, she shifted, her golden brown fur shining in the pale sunlight. Her chocolate brown eyes looked around, taking in her surroundings as her eyes ajusted to the new definition, as if she had been watching a blurry TV and just got HD. As much as a wolf could, she smirked once more. This was going to be fun.
She followed the scent, trying to catch up as much as she could. This wolf seemed to be quite fast, so she thought it might be Leah, who was the fastest wolf she knew. But the color of the wolf hadn't been the same as Leah... So who was this wolf if she could not catch it? She could not hear their thoughts, either. Was she really following a shapeshifter, or another animal? Its impossible for this animal to be this fast, and the sheer size of it, and its smell, tells of its species...
"STOP! WHO ARE YOU?" Elysium tried to push her thoughts into the mind of the wolf, but found a brick wall. It was odd to be shut out of a wolf's mind, who she could now see stopped in a small feild in front of her, chewing at a white rabbit. She stopped at the side of the feild, hidden in the shadows. She watched the wolf carefully, ready to fight if she had to. With no backup.

J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • Jayden pawed the ground nervously, his hunger overriding much of his wolf instincts. Grunt with effort, he turned towards the right, approaching the strange scent at an angle. A dark figure was hidden in the shadows; its inky blackness covered what light the sun managed to send into the forest. It created an ominous feeling for Jayden. The shadow twitched slightly and Jayden snarled under his breath. It took one second before he gave a low howl and hurtled himself at the figure. It was a deer. Jayden howled once more in satisfaction as he realized he would feed heartedly tonight.
The animal veered off, and Jayden gave chase. The wolf gave a sudden bolt of speed, but then he stumbled. It caused the beast to slow his pace, allowing a new view to be given in his sight. Yet another shadow lurked in the corner of the forest. The shadow twitched slightly, and Jayden froze. The wolf whimpered out softly before crawling back on all fours. It looked bigger than most deer. And his senses were still tingling in hunger. What was this creature?
The wolf whined, dipping his head as if in panic. But the way his black orbs glared at the unknown, Jayden prepped himself for battle. He was hungry, and though this beast was bigger than he was used too, he was hungry and stronger than most animals. From the way his paw kept burrowing into the moist Earth, you could estimate that he was tallying the odds up in his mind. His antics all called out that he was planning out strategies as to how to strike the figure in front of his form, that he suddenly gave the impression of one being small and defenseless.
His racing heart thundered on, so loud Jayden wondered if the creature could hear. Thinking of an attack plan was more effortless than actually bringing that plan into action. The wolf crouched down as he prepared to spring in the animal's direction. The wolf snapped his jaw at the animals, hoping it would send it skittering back.
The wolf threw his head back into the air, an ear-shattering howl piercing the air. The wolf sauntered forward as if he was the predator. He snarled loudly, lunging at the shadows. The wolf ambled forward as a leisurely pace, dipping his head. He was attempting to be threatening, but his hunger was overpowering everything.

Elysium backed up nervously, quietly, as the wolf moved to attack something else. A deer. Elysium followed at a similar pace, but less running and more of a jog, trying to keep her eyes on the beast instead of trying to catch it. She was nervous around this wolf, afraid of what it could do. It was obviously not one she had seen or smelt before, for everything about it was new to her. Elysium had been a wolf for a long time, yes, but perhaps she still didn't know everything? Obviously not.
She could not hear this wolves thoughts, which was odd to her. She had never felt this before. At first, she hated the fact that everyone could hear her thoughts, know what really lay beneath her bitchy exterior, but as time went on she started to ignore it. Her pack was the only people she could trust with these secrets, and in the end, thats the way it should have been.
The wolf stopped suddenly, and Elysium stopped as well. It seemed to be looking right in her direction, so she stopped everything including breathing. It whined and bit the air, warning her to go away. It was obviously just as scared as she was. Elysium twitched, wanting to attack, but also wanting to reassure this beast that she had no reason to hurt it. She did not want to at all, really. She was just curious as to who was on her packs land. And also, who was this wolf who she could not hear the thoughts was? Was it even possible that there could be another back of wolves somewhere near by?
Before she could try to calm the wolf, he charged. Elysium growled loudly, warning the wolf. She glared at the charging wolf, ready to dodge an attack, or even attack as well. She didn't want to, but her instincts were telling her to. She was run by her instincts at the moment, so she waited for the attack in anticipation. J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • Jayden paused where he was, stepping back nervously as the creature in front of him approached. He had seen it moving before, almost, if not more, fluid than him which led Jayden to believe that this creature had to be small; but when he saw the lighter shadows spray off of it, he realized that this creature was merely slightly smaller than him.
The creature stepped forward, growling loudly. It stopped Jayden in his tracks, and he froze as the light showed the true figure. It was not possible for there stood a golden brown wolf - much like his own form, abnormalities and everything. Was it possible that this creature was much like him and Gregory? Of course, it wasn't Gregory for the color because the fur was all wrong. No, Gregory had a long mane of a near mahogany color, streaked with gold. This one reminded him of the color of one of Rider's foals. They had named the horse Crystal's Son after his mother. Jayden's eyes lightened at the memory of his human days, and he softened his glare at the wolf in front of him.
Reluctantly, Jayden pulled out of his defensive stance, sidestepping around the wolf in front of him. Was it a shifter much like he was? He didn't want to phase in fear of it not being and then having no way to protect himself. Of course, since when had Jayden not been able to phase quickly? Questions lingered, but above all, Jayden lowered his head in observance. Just what was this creature?

The wolf before her backed out of its defensive stance, which gave Elysium a little more room to think as her instincts backed off as well. She was able to see clearly now, and stopped growling. At the moment, there was no reason to growl at this monster. For all she knew, this could just be a young wolf that she hadn't met before, or one of the alphas. She was a little uncertain about how exactly it all worked. But the way this wolf moved, and stalked its prey, it didn't seem young.
The wolf bayed its head, and Elysium could have sworn it was about to whimper. It didn't glare anymore, and the wolves black eyes looked curious rather than furious now. She lowered her head as well, her lips going back to cover her sharp canine teeth. She, too, was curious. Should she shift back, she thought to herself. Over the past few years of her transformation, she had been practicing many things for battle, and shifting quickly was one of them. Other than her cousin, Jacob, she could shift and be on the prowl quicker than anyone else.
Not thinking about the fact that, once shifted she would be completely naked in front of possibly a man she didn't know, Elysium shifted, standing before the giant wolf. She wasn't really short for a women, but compaired to this wolf she looked as if she was only a foot tall. She didn't feel intimidated though, she felt strong and confident. But then again, there wasn't much times in which she didn't feel that way. She smirked, her hands on her hips. J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • When the wolf pulled away, Jayden felt a flood of relief. It was if this creature was reading his mind and analyzing his every movements like it was a part of him. Feeling confident that the wolf would not attack, Jayden stood tall but then froze when a slight shimmer gobbled the wolf in front of him, beginning from its chest. To any normal human, it would have taken a second to distinguish the change, but, naturally, for Jayden, being the shifter he was, he was able to see just how it happened.
It engulfed the wolf, and Jayden knew automatically that this wolf was a shape shifter much like he was. It shrunk significantly and he realized that it was a female shifter, something that Gregory had some was impossible. Gregory himself said that he was a descendant from a long line of shifters - and only sons in the family shifted - female was nonexistant. Yet her stood a female shifter directly in front of him.
When the transformation was complete, Jayden's eyes widened and the ring of thin chocolate, darker than his tan streak fur, was visible as the girl stood in front of him - a human girl (who by the looks of it had been hit exceptionally by puberty). It took three heartbeats for the entire dillema to take place before Jayden whirled around so that his backside was facing her. It wasn't that Jayden hadn't ever seen a female naked before - because he had - his foster father had brought many, many strippers home before he abused Jayden, so he was not clueless to the women structure. But still, if Jayden had any ounce of respect, he would not stare at her - it just wasn't typical for him.
Determined to speak and get some answers, figuring that this girl was another nomad, Jayden trotted a few steps in front of him, scurrying into the thick underbrush and out of sight of the female shifter. He used his muzzle to nip at the pair of pants tied securely around his front leg, hidden from view by his enormous torso. Phasing silently, the twenty-one-year-old slipped into the pants and stood tall, still facing away from the female.
"Who the hell are you?" he breathed out.

Elysium found comfort in the fact that the wolf stood up now, not afraid nor angry and about to attack. Elysium stood strongly, her eyes betraying no emotion except for slight amusement. This was usually the only emotion she showed to people, or anger, except of course her mother or pack mates. Not that she really wanted to show all her emotion to all her pack mates, especially the annoying ones. Mainly Leah. Elysium rolled her eyes at the thought of Leah.
Quickly, the wolf turned its back on Elysium. The wolf was obviously a man now, for a women shifter wouldn't really be as affected as much as to turn away. Maybe avert their eyes, but completely turn away? Elysium snirkered. She always knew her body was, lets face it, perfect, and she always flaunted it. It was fun to use it against people, as jealousy or lust. Maybe this would be more fun than she thought.
The wolf trotted away, and started to pull with its giant teeth at the pants tied around the wolf's ankle. Going to shift. Elysium thought. Elysium was excited to meet this wolf, the one she could not hear the thoughts of. Was he not exactly what she was thinking he was?
"Who the hell are you?" The man asked from behind a bush, perhaps afraid of her bare flesh. Elysium smirked. "Would you like me to get into some clothes so we can talk?" Elysium asked, ignoring his question. She wanted to speak with this man, but if the only way she could do it was by covering her curves, so be it. J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • ayden bit back an obscurity as the female merely ignored his question, proceeding to taunt him more. He wanted nothing more than to talk to her, of course, what was she getting at? But he was not a psychopath who got off on the nude aspect of being a shifter. If anything, Jayden tried to harness what human qualities he still possessed, but he never went near his prior species. He would not risk hurting him, not after having almost killed Damien.
"Obviously," Jayden remarked, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at this woman's antics. She reminded him so much of his little sister, Lyrical, before they were separated all those years ago. Was it really six years? Or was it shorter? What year was it, Jayden wondered. It had been so long since he last had human contact. He knew that from the way his pants were tight against his legs. It had been too long. "I'm sorry, but unlike some others, I'm not a pervert in wolf form or human. "
The old Jayden would have introduced himself to the girl already when she had phased, after of course, looking away, and soon plopped down beside her. But this is not the older Jayden, this was a twenty-one-year-old shifter who had seen more evil in his lifetime than he would have liked. But still, even though his human days were over, he still protrayed the random spurts of confidence and over zealous personality – never having a care in the world. Jayden prepared himself, with this in mind, not to be scared. This girl was much like him.

Elysium smirked at the sarcasm in his voice, pushing off her flirtatious tone of voice and moving to be more serious. It made Elysium a little worried... Did he not like what he saw? Deep down she had always been so insecure, mostly about her personality, but her body as well. She knew she was beautiful, her middle name 'Aphrodite' perfect for her, but previous to hitting puberty she was very awkward and out of perportion. Flat chested, with big curvy hips, and thin legs.
Elysium leaned down to untie the purple halter dress she had tied around her ankle. She did want to talk to this man, and it appears this was the only way she could accomplish that. She could barely see him, just his dark shadow in the forest, but at least she knew he was still there. He was quite tall she could see, with dark hair and tanned skin. Thats really the only features she could tell. She wondered vaugly if he was good looking. She wished she could have worn more, such as the golden bracelet and locket she had stashed away before shifting under a log, but it was too late now. At least this dress was cute.
"I'm decent now, if you want to come out." Elysium said, gesturing to her now clothed body. "I wouldn't have mind if you stared though, it's normal when you see someone as sexy as this. I get it a lot." Elysium laughed quietly to herself. She was very vain, but in a joking way. She knew she got a lot of people to stare at her when she walked down the streets of La Push or Forks, but she knew she couldn't possibly be the hottest person in either of those places. J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • Jayden strained his ears to hear the other's movements, cocking his head slightly in her direction. He actually felt like moving around so that he could catch another glimpse at her, but his head and heart screamed at him to be a gentleman. Then again, the hormones were screaming quite a bit as well - not louder but enough to be noticed. It's not like this girl wasn't worth looking at, because, Jayden thought with a grim smile, she was - oh man was she. But it was so not worth having it on his conscious later. Even if he was not fully human, he still had to respect certain aspects of the human species. Where the dignity if he gave it up?
He heard the female shuffle around, and he only assumed that she was retrieving what few article of clothing she had. He remembered, when in wolf form, there had been purple fabric adjourning her ankle, and Jayden wondered vaguely if it was a top of some sort. He wanted to talk with her desperately, but he required some dignity. Shifting in his position, Jayden pushed himself into a standing position when the girl called him out. Wordlessly, he stepped into light which was fading as night began to creep upon the forest. It was a rare sunny day, Jayden remarked.
The girl in front of him stood tall in the clearing, and Jayden found himself attached to her brilliant smile. She threw her head back with a light chuckle, and though most might find her choice of words conceited, Jayden felt as if she was just oozing confidence. "Now, can you please tell me your name?" he stammered.

Elysium moved to soothe her dress, which was ruffled from being tied around her ankle, making her curves even more dominant. She liked having these curves, giving her an advantage over other girls in high school when she was in high school. That was long gone now, and she was now just this; a shapeshifter. She wanted to go to school, but she liked being a part of her pack more. So, she worked a part time job as one of the only waitress in a small local diner, the ya-gah ya-gah grill, while doing her patrols.
Elysium had her head down as the man came into view, smoothing out the last wrinkle in her dress. When she was quite happy with the way it looked, the slit in the front of the dress to show her cleavage in the right place, the length of it draping nicely, she looked up. She was pleasantly surprised when she did for how he looked was even better than she expected. It wasn't like your typical fireworks, for she had seen many pretty boys, some maybe prettier than him, before but he was quite handsome. More handsome than 'pretty' or 'hot', which was something she just realized she liked probably more.
"Sure, cutie." Elysium smirked, her eyes blazing with amusment. He seemed to awkward, almost afraid of her. He was stammering, perhaps from her just having been naked? She hoped so. "Elysium Ares. And you are?" She asked, her voice dripping with confidence. J A Y D E N G R E E N E AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, I'LL HIDE MY TEARS • • • • • • • • • • • • She was fidgeting with her appearance, Jayden noticed, and he raised his eyebrow in question. Why was she caring so much how she looked when just moments before she was content with talking to him as bare as she was the moment she came into the world? His eyes widened slightly when he finally took in her self, and a thin smile graced his face. She was quite beautiful, Jayden thought. She was like a goddess in the midst of ugliness he had faced in the past eight years.
"My name is Jayden." He approached her cautiously, wanting to know if she was truly real. It was not possible for female shifters to exist, so how was this girl standing before him. A goddess in wolf form, Jayden thought, and he stood still. "Elysium..." he said, listening to the way the name rolled off his tongue. This was the one person he was not afraid of. Perhaps it was because they were in the middle of no where and no humans were around to hurt. Did this girl have a pack? A family? Did she miss human contact. "What are you, Elysium? I thought female shifters weren't possible..."

Elysium stood straight, her hands moving once more to on her hips. She smiled when he told her his name. Jayden had always been a name she had liked, one she even debated giving to her son one day... That is, if she even ever had children. The way her name rolled off his tongue, as it did with everyone, was very nice, and she smiled once more, her eyelids drooping slightly. She usually didn't do this on purpose, flirting was something natural for her. She used to be awkward and nervous around boys, but it was a second nature for her. Just like shifting.
Elysium flinched slightly. His comment about her being a female shifter, and it being 'impossible' kind of hurt her. It always had. She knew Leah felt the same, though they had never talked about it. Elysium was 16 when she shifted, so she wasn't thinking much about herself reproducing. But now that it was obvious that she wouldn't have children, at least as long as she continued shifting, bothered her. She wasn't ovulating anymore, and that upset her a lot. She wanted to have children, and now as a shifter, with a large pack, she knew she wanted a large family... if she could have one.
Elysium quickly covered her emotions, smirking once more. "A shifter, like you. Or, at least I think so. Im only the third female shifter in existance... Leah, Ardis, and me. Everyone thought the same as you, but here I stand. Why are you here, Jayden?" Elysium asked, her voice soft and calm. Jayden cocked his head to the side before narrowing his chocolate eyes at Elysium, stepping to the side and analyzing the girl's actions. She flinched inwardly as he continued to speak, and he knew that the question had hit a nerve. He hadn't meant to hurt her by any means, but he desperately needed answers that no one could supply to him. His parents had died years ago; his sister was somewhere in the world without him; Gregory was nomadic and understood only what he could study from himself.
"There's more of you?" he inquired incredulously, eyes widening to a point where hysteria stepped in. There was more of his kind? People hiding out in the woods that he had no knowledge of - it was uncanny what this girl knew. She must have a pack then.
"Why am I here?" he said, confusion lacing his tone. "I came here to hide... What else could I do? I had to go somewhere, anywhere... Some place that no humans were around. That's what you're supposed to do, right? That's what you're doing here, right?" He ran a pale hand through his hair which was tangled slightly from having been tousled when in wolf form.
